Torres del Paine National Park – Is the 5-day hike really worth it?

The 5-day hike (the so-called W) is , alongside the hike to Machu Pichu in Peru , it is certainly the trekking highlight in South America. The whole thing is correspondingly full and expensive. Reservations, also for the camping pitches, should be made at least 4-5 months in advance. If you want to get a place in the cabins (camp for 8 people), you should book even earlier. You can see the various options including prices in the “Tips/Useful information” section

5 days of hiking in the Torres del Paine means unique landscapes as well as rain (sleet), wind and the whole thing with approx. 20 KG of luggage. Not always so much fun.

5 days in the Torres del Paine with a full pack (20-25kg) means not only fantastic scenery, but also suffering. Rain (sleet) and wind, constant ups and downs can be tough (at least for us). But all in all, it’s a great experience that is worth the effort, the costs and the hardships. We reveal how to do it more comfortably under ‘Tips/useful information’
